About us

Trace is the idea of leaving your mark, making your own while following in the traces of our ancestors.

It’s about showcasing, first through maple, centuries-old craftsmanship and the ingredients of our wild land. The result is distinctive products that step off the beaten path while remaining deeply rooted in our family values.

Trace is the new brand of the Théberge family maple farm, formerly known as Les Érables du Patrimoine Théberge, in Saint-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.

It was first in 1988 that Michel (on the left) built the current sugar shack with his own hands on his father’s maple grove. From one spring to the next, he refined his equipment and techniques to craft precious maple syrup, later involving his children in the process. The joy of making syrup during the beautiful spring days, surrounded by family, made the passion for sugaring season truly contagious.

For several years now, Dominique (in the center) has taken charge of managing sugaring season and producing maple syrup, fine-tuning every detail to develop the right flavors and achieve the best possible final result. With his culinary studies and experience in the restaurant industry, he applies his knowledge to the transformation of maple syrup and maple products.

As for Jean-Gabriel (on the right), he oversees product commercialization. Since graduating from university, he has been using his experience in marketing and market development to support the growth of the family sugar bush, both online and on the ground across the country.

The young brother duo now combines their strengths and passion for maple within the family business, opening a new chapter filled with innovation and creativity, while carrying on tradition at its very best.
