Spicy Chicken with Whisky Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup TRACE whisky barrel-aged maple syrup
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Juice of half a lime
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder or 2 fresh cloves
- A pinch of chili flakes
- 4 chicken breasts or thighs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, pinch of chili flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Rub the chicken with the spice mix and let marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Preheat the BBQ to medium-high heat.
- Prepare the glaze by combining the TRACE whisky barrel-aged maple syrup, BBQ sauce, melted butter, lime juice, and a pinch of chili flakes.
- Grill the chicken until fully cooked and lightly caramelized, brushing with the glaze throughout cooking.
- Let rest a few minutes before serving with sautéed potatoes and vegetables.
